Cory Monteith’ death saddened me: young, talented, and addicted beyond his control. He had been in rehab in March, which was not his first attempt to stop his addiction.
Could this be you?
(718)520-5021) 24 hours: CALL…call, just to talk to someone…this is a 24 hour hotline made up of volunteers who believe because they’ve been there.
Cory received treatment when he was 19 and had previously talked about his addiction struggles, saying he had a serious problem and took just “anything and everything.””
I work with people who are addicted to drugs and/ or alcohol and know there has to be a readiness to surrender to God the power that the substance has over you. Sometimes that readiness doesn’t happen until rock bottom. Using and drinking overloads your brain, takes over and is not a very good judge to whats safe.
I am a licensed psychotherapist and can provide very good interventions for individuals and help for the family, but, I Always recommend Alcoholics Anonymous . Stay with the AA community, which means going to meetings, working the steps, and there’s hope. My services are helpful, but in AA, there’s miracles happening.
Cory looked like many alcoholics today, drug addicted folks: handsome, talented, young, and knowing there is a problem. Even trying to quit.
